Key Center Library: Wednesday, August 5 – Story Time for Babies 10:15am-11:15am, Build with Rigamajig and More – a STEAM for kids discover lab 2:30pm-3:30pm; Thursday, August 6 – Story Time for Mixed Ages 11:15am-12:15pm, Find Medicare Answers with SHIBA 2:00pm, Resin Stationary – a Teen STEAM program 4:00pm-5:30pm; Friday, August 7 – Friends of the Key Center Meeting 10:00am-12:00pm, Play Time 2:00pm-3:00pm; Monday, August 10 – MultiCare WIC Clinic 1:00pm-4:30pm.
A SHIBA, Medicare Advisor, with Peninsula Community Health Services will be at KP Community Services on Wednesday, August 5 at 11:30am. And their Mobile Medical will be there 1:00pm-3:00pm. Walk-ins welcome, but appointment recommended. https://www.PCHSweb.org
KP Community Services presents: Home is where the art is – A Senior Summer Camp. Rural Farm Camp August 4-6. Line Dancing Camp August 11-13 1:00pm-2:00pm. All levels welcome, and chairs are available for seated dancing and participation. All camps are FREE for seniors age 55+. To register, stop by KPCS or call (253)884-4440.

Food 4 All’s 7th Annual Clothing Drive Friday, August 7 & Saturday, August 8 10:00am-6:00pm Sunday, August 9 9:00am-11:00am. Gently used or new clothes, shoes, and accessories for people of all ages.

NAMI Pierce County Annual Community Picnic at Red Barn Saturday, August 8 12:00pm-3:00pm. Their Annual Picnic is a chance for community members, families, volunteers, and supporters to gather for an afternoon of food, fun, and connection. It’s potluck style, and everyone is welcome. Guests are encouraged to bring a side dish or dessert to share if they’re able.
Red Barn Youth Center is hosting a Peer-to-Peer Mental Health First Aid Course August 10, 12 & 14 10:00am-12:00pm. This course teaches teens in grades 9-12 or ages 14-18 how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in their friends and peers. NAMI Pierce County – Why I Choose to Stay – Community Art Night Thursday, August 6 5:20pm-7:30pm at TACID: 6315 S. 19th St., Tacoma. Free evening of creativity, reflection, and connection as you create artwork inspired by the reasons we choose hope. Together, participants will contribute to a community art display while making space for meaningful conversations about mental health, resilience, and belonging. No artistic experience is necessary—just bring yourself. They’re also currently seeking donations of art supplies, including acrylic paint, paint brushes, colored pencils, plain paper, glue, and old magazines. If your organization or someone you know is interested in donating supplies, we’d love to connect.
