Timely News:

A SHIBA, Medicare Advisor, with Peninsula Community Health Services will be at KP Community Services on Wednesday, September 2 at 11:30am. And their Mobile Medical will be there 1:00pm-3:00pm. Walk-ins welcome, but appointment recommended. https://www.PCHSweb.org

The Key Free Clinic on Thursday, September 3. Walk-in 4:30pm-6:00pm at the KP Community Council Office in the Key Center Corral. Extended hours to 7:00pm by appointment. For additional information peninsulakeyfreeclinic@gmail.com

Friends of the Key Center Library meeting Friday, September 4, 10:00am-12:00pm. Learn how you can support your local library through fundraising and advocacy. New members welcome.

Bird Walk with Chris Rurik Saturday, September 5, 8:30am. Meet at Gateway Park Pavilion. Will meet Rain or Shine.

Two Waters Arts Alliance presents Art Walk 2026 Saturday, September 5, 10:00am-6:00pm. Now at the Key Peninsula Civic Center. Indoor and Outdoor Art Booths, live music, children’s activities, food, beer & wine. Registration is now open for vendors. KP Veterans Monday, September 7. 7:00pm-8:00pm at KP Lutheran Church. They meet every month on the first and third Monday. For additional information: 541-514-9371

Tacoma Pro-Bono will be at KPCS Tuesday, September 8, 10:00am-12:00pm, and at TMSP 1:00pm-3:00pm. No appointment necessary, first come-first served.

Opening Minds through Art (OMA) – Art Show and reception at the Crandall Center Thursday, September 10, 5:00pm-6:00pm. People living with dementia (artists) are paired with volunteers to create art focused on imagination and remaining skills instead of memory and lost skills. Art created by elders living at The Mustard Seed Village.
Key Center Block Party Saturday, September 12 10:00am-5:00pm. Live music, local makers, small businesses, food trucks, kids activities, face painting, raffles, and community fun in Key Center. For additional information: https://www.facebook.com/events/1565828938667689

Activities off the Key Peninsula:

Washington State Fair takes place September 4-27, closed Tuesdays and Wednesday, September 9. This is one of the largest fairs in the United States and Washington’s signature end-of-summer tradition, drawing more than a million visitors over twenty days each September. Tom Taylor YMCA in Gig Harbor is hosting Race For A Soldier Sunday, September 13th. Race For A Soldier is presented by the Permission To Start Dreaming Foundation to raise awareness of the challenges faced by our military service members, veterans and first responders living with the effects of Post Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries. The Foundation has delivered Mind, Body and Spirit workshops; courage and leadership summits; eliminated barriers for veterans to receive equine therapy and counseling; facilitates the Warrior PATHH training program; and peer to peer support meetings called “Huddles” in Tacoma, Gig Harbor, and Bremerton. The Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation is committed to finding the best tools and training to enhance the mind, body and spiritual wellbeing of our nation’s veterans, first responders and their family members.
