Timely News:
Key Center Library: Wednesday, September 30 – Story Time for Babies 10:15am-11:15am, Play Time 1:00pm-2:00pm; Thursday, October 1 – Story Time for Mixed Ages 11:15am-12:15pm; Friday, October 1 – Friends of the Key Center Library meeting Friday, October 2, 10:00am-12:00pm. Learn how you can support your local library through fundraising and advocacy. New members welcome.
Community Sewing Day: Quilts for Vets, Thursday, October 1, 1:00pm-4:00pm. A special community sewing day to work on patriotic quilts for Veterans. No experience necessary, they have projects for every skill level. For additional information: (253) 884-9814, TMSPinfo@themustardseedproject.org

Madrona Musical Festival Saturday, October 3 at KP Civic Center. This is an all-ages music celebration with music and food. They feature nationally touring musicians based in the region who play blues, old-time country, and Americana music. Music Workshops – 12:00pm, Contra Dance (old-time square dance) – 2:00pm, Concert Begins – 4:00pm. This is a FREE event with a suggested donation of $25. Upcoming Key Peninsula Events:
FREE Scam and Fraud Workshop Thursday, October 8, 1:00pm-2:30pm at The Mustard Seed Project (Crandall Center). This workshop, presented by Senior Tech Foundation, is designed for older adults, caregivers, and family members who want practical tools to recognize scams, prevent fraud, and stay safe online.
Key Pen It Fresh. Saturday, October 10 10:00am-2:00pm at the Meadow in 360 Trails. This is a FREE community Event hosted by Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and Key Pen Parks. Come spend the day riding, playing, and learning together. There will be something for every age and experience level from little ones getting comfortable on a strider, to kids ready to hit the trails, to teens looking to learn more about bike care and maintenance. Come explore the trails, connect with your community, and enjoy a day outside on two wheels. We’ll see you at the trails! Registration is not required for this event; just bring your bike and helmet, then come ready to have some fun!
KP Civic Center presents Dueling Pianos Saturday, October 17. Doors open at 5:30pm, cocktail fare will be served beginning at 6:00pm, show starts at 7:00pm. Tickets are $60 per person which includes one free drink ticket. Be sure to bring cash for song requests, audience games, and other fun surprises throughout the evening. DSHS Mobile Office will be at KP Community Services Tuesday, October 27 10:00am-2:00pm. It will be staffed by specialists who can determine people’s eligibility for state and federal medical, cash, and food assistance programs. Their team processes new applications, case reviews, changes, EBT card requests and required documents. They also take applications for the Child Care Subsidy Program and forward them to the Department of Children, Youth and Families for processing.

Be a part of Food Waste Prevention Week as they dish up some tips for cooking creatively, making affordable meals, and forming easy habits that help stretch your grocery budget while reducing waste. Springtide, Live in Concert Friday, October 2, 6:00pm-8:00pm at Harbor History Museum, Gig Harbor. Doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 6:30pm. Springtide brings together the joyful energy of traditional Celtic and Scandinavian fiddle music with heartfelt original songs, rich vocal harmonies, and spacious creative improvisation. Sip and Stroll along Gig Harbor’s Waterfront Saturday, October 3, 2:00pm-6:00pm. Enjoy a selection of beverages sourced primarily from local Gig Harbor restaurants and wineries! Plus, many of the 22 Stroll Stops will feature delicious snacks, small bites, and treats for you to enjoy as you explore the waterfront. Limited number of tickets available. Harbor WildWatch presents Pier into the Night Saturday, October 3, 7:00pm-8:00pm at Maritime Pier, Gig Harbor. Join them for an underwater adventure where you stay dry on the dock as their divers team up with an underwater ROV to live stream exactly what they encounter below the surface. Staff biologists and trained volunteers will identify the sea life that appears on the screen and share information about the life that calls the Salish Sea home. Hands of Hope Gig Harbor 2026, a fundraiser for Harbor Hope Center Friday, October 9, 5:00pm-9:00pm at Ocean5.
