Timely News:
Key Center Library: Wednesday, September 23 – Story Time for Babies 10:15am-11:15am, Play Time 1:00pm-2:00pm, Magic Tree House Book Party – a Ready Reader program 4:00pm-5:00pm; Thursday, September 24 – Story Time for Mixed Ages 11:15am-12:15pm.
KPCS Community Nights Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30pm-7:30pm. They’ll keep their doors open a little longer and offer a welcoming place to connect. Play a game, listen to music, have a snack, visit with friends, or simply come spend some time with us. All generations are welcome, so bring a friend, neighbor, grandchild, or just bring yourself.

Farm Tour Breakfast Stop at KP Civic Center Saturday, September 26, 9:00am-11:00am. This is a FREE Community Breakfast
Master Gardeners will be at Longbranch Saturday, September 26, 10:00am-4:00pm and Gateway Park Sunday, September 26, 10:00am-4:00pm.
KP Farm Tour September 26 & 27, 10:00am-4:00pm. Celebrate 20 years of the KP Farm Tour. Visit local farms, meet farmers, and enjoy community vendors and events at various locations. For additional information: https://KPfarmtour.com
Here are a couple more opportunities to Volunteer in Key Peninsula. First KPCS Homeless Outreach Every other Thursday for approximately 4 hours each time doing street outreach. Reach out to Ethian or Erin at 253-884-4440. The second is with Communities in Schools of Peninsula. They have several opportunities to help, Reading & Math Mentors, Tutors just name a few. Upcoming Key Peninsula Events:
Caregiver Academy, September 30 – October 25 at The Mustard Seed Project. Participants will receive all the required hours and training to become a Certified Home Care Aide. 3rd Annual Madrona Fest Saturday, October 3 at KP Civic Center. Like last year, they will have music workshops at 12 pm, an old-time jam at 1 pm, a contra dance at 2 pm, and the evening concert starting at 4 pm. They are doing things a little differently in 2026. Tickets are free. The suggested donation is $25. If you can donate $25, they will use the money to pay the bands, the caller, and the sound engineer. If you cannot, go anyway and don’t worry about paying.

The next shred event is Saturday, September 26, 10:00am-1:00pm behind the Key Center Fire Department.
– 3 shopping bags per person.
– No metals (staples ok), plastics, batteries, cardboard, or pre-shredded paper.
– No hard plastics, 3-ring binders, x-rays/pictures, and garbage.
