Timely News:

The Key Center Library will be having Story Time for Babies Wednesday, July1: 10:15am-11:15am; Water’s Incredible Journey – Pierce County Environmental Educators, 2:30pm-3:15pm; Story Time for Mixed Ages Thursday, July 2: 11:15am-12:15pm; Friends of the Key Center Library Meeting Friday, July 3, 10:00am-12:00pm; Play Time, 2:00pm-3:00pm.

A SHIBA, Medicare Advisor, with PCHS will be at KP Community Services on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:30am.

4th of July Parade in Home at 10:00am. Starts on the corner by the home store and goes to B street along the waterfront (A street).

Family Fun Fest Saturday, July 11, 12:00pm-4:00pm at Gateway Park. There will be bounce houses, carnival games with prizes, crafts photo booth, and much more. Orca Party Night Saturday, July 11, 5:00pm-9:00pm at KP Civic Center. KP Community Council are raising funds for a large orca sculpture to install at Gateway Park. There will be music, food, silent auction, raffle, door prizes, dancing, orca calling contest and trivia. Tickets for sale on Eventbrite or at the KP Community Office in the corral.

Red Barn Youth Center’s Summer program will run July 14-August 6 every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 10:00am-4:30pm. Free for youth 6th-12th grade.

KP Community Services presents: Home is where the art is – A Senior Summer Camp July 14-August 27. Each week will be a different activity, starting with Mocktails & Masterpieces. All camps are FREE for seniors age 55+. To register, stop by KPCS or call (253)884-4440.

Partners & Pairings: A Fundraiser Dinner Saturday, July 18, 5:00pm-8:00pm Key Peninsula Lutheran Church. Dinner buffet featuring Pasta Pairings catered by Olive Garden (2 types of pasta, 3 sauces, 3 meats, salad, and breadsticks). Tour KP Co-op Preschool’s Forest Friends Nature School,  Sneak peek at KP Go Electric Carshare, Dessert auction, Raffle prizes, Cash bar (beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase). Proceeds will be split 50/50 between Key Peninsula Co-op Preschool & Key Peninsula Partnership for a Healthy Community. Red Barn Youth Center is hosting two Mental Health First Aid workshops this summer—one for adults in July, one for teens in August! Mental Health First Aid gives you the skills to recognize when someone is facing mental health or substance use challenges — and the confidence to be their first source of support. Gig Harbor Celebrates America 250. 4th of July Kid and Pet Parade Saturday, July 4, 10:00am-10:30am Downtown. Stick around Skansie Park for an afternoon full of fun, including live music, hotdogs, a classic pie-eating competition, a pie-baking showdown featuring local chefs, and a lively Kids Corner packed with hands-on crafts, games, and activities designed to keep little ones entertained.
