At the Key Center Library: Story Time for Mixed Ages Thursday, September 25, 10:30pm-11:30pm; Digital Skills Class-A Digital literacy program Thursday, September 25, 1:00pm-4:00pm; Play Time Friday, September 26, 1:00pm-2:00pm; Story Time for Babies Tuesday, September 30, 2025, 10:15am-11:15am.

Join Key Peninsula Community Services on Wednesdays this month at 1:00pm for “Wi-Fi Wednesdays!” Phone Tips and Tricks, September 24 – Computer Basics & Handy Tricks.

Also, at KP Community Services Flu and Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic Thursday, September 25. 10:00am-12:00pm. For Adults 18+, Bring your healthcare card and ID.

KP Coffee Hour in the KP Community Council Office located at 9013 Key Peninsula Hwy. NW, Suite D, Key Center. KP Community Services’ Homeless Outreach is presenting this month at 10:00am, September 25. Join them for coffee, treats and conversation.

KP Kids’ meeting on Thursday, September 25 at 10:00pm at The Red Barn Youth Center.

KP Relatives Raising Kids is happening Thursday, September 25 at KP Lutheran Church 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Email Lori at childcare@kphealthycommunity.org for more information.

Emergency Preparedness Meeting (E-Prep) held at Key Peninsula Civic Center Thursday, September 25 at 7:00pm. They will have Insurance Agent Chuck Davis (owner of the David Agency) as a guest speaker to talk about important documents you should have ready to go if you need to evacuate your home or make a claim for damage to your home. They will also have more information about supplies to have on hand to be 2 Weeks Ready.

Paper Shred event Saturday, September 27, 10:00am-1:00pm at Key Peninsula Fire Station #46 in Key Center. You can shred up to 3 shopping bags of paper at each event.

Burn Ban has been downgraded to Stage 1 but be mindful that fuels are still dry and there is no outdoor burning. BBQ’s and recreational fires in approved pits are ok as long as dry season firewood is used and not brush.

Upcoming Key Peninsula Events:

Second Annual Madrona Fest Saturday, October 18, 12:00pm-9:00pm at Key Peninsula Civic Center. They will have vendors starting at 12:00pm, contra dance, workshops, farm to festival menu, and bands set to begin performing at 4:00pm.  They will also have their FIRST photography contest! Activities off the Key Peninsula:

Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources is hosting a new series of the popular “Oh My Gosh – Now What?” seminar beginning Wednesday, October 1. This is a six-part series of discussions designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, families, caregivers, and others focusing on the journey of memory loss. These will be held each Wednesday 12:30pm-1:30pm at Gig Harbor Senior Center at Lutheran Church October 1 through November 5. Have you heard of Pierce County School-Based Mental Health Summit?

The Pierce County School-Based Mental Health Summit is a powerful event dedicated to promoting student mental well-being. It brings together educators, mental health professionals, and community members to explore effective strategies for supporting the mental health needs of students across Pierce County schools.

This year’s Summit will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Pacific Lutheran University. Theme: The Power of WE: Strengthening Schools through Care and Connections in Pierce County

Through expert-led sessions and collaborative workshops, attendees will gain practical tools and strategies to address student mental health challenges and foster healthy, supportive school environments. The Summit emphasizes the importance of collective action—empowering all stakeholders to create lasting, positive change in schools and communities.
