FAQ’s:

What Is a County Alert System?
September is National Preparedness Month

A county alert system is a free notification service that allows you to sign up and receive notifications about emergencies that may affect the locations frequented by you and your family. This service allows fire, police and other agencies handling emergency response to send out accurate and up-to-date information to residents.

Pierce County:
PC Alert! Emergency Notifications Service Receive alerts to your cellphone, home phone, email, text messages and TTY/TDD. Choose up to five locations you want to be notified about such as your residence, workplace, children’s school and more. It is important to provide complete information and update it when you move or change jobs so Pierce County ALERT can provide accurate and timely information to you.
Sign up online at piercecountywa.gov/921/Pierce-County-ALERT, call 253-798-6595 or text “PCALERT” to 888-777.

Kitsap County:
KitsapALERT is a free Community Warning System used only when it is necessary to relay critical safety information in the event of a disaster or local emergency. The Kitsap County Department of Emergency Management encourages everyone who lives or works in the county to sign up for KitsapALERT and to invite friends and neighbors to do so as well. KitsapALERT subscribers have the options of notifications via text, email and/or phone call when an incident happens close to their home or work address. The notification will provide basic information about the incident and required actions to protect life and property. Learn more at kitsapdem.com/programs/kitsapalert or sign up at smart911.com/smart911/ref/reg.action. While the vendor’s registration page includes the branding “Smart 911” this system is NOT utilized by local 911 call center and first responder partners. Kitsap County also urges you to sign up for Community Connect, which is the system utilized by first responders in Kitsap County.
