Timely News

Key Peninsula Community Services (KPCS) hosts the Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) Mobile Medical Clinic on Wednesday, March 5 from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Appointments are recommended, but will try to fit in walk-ins. Contact the website for more information. (pchsweb.org)

The Key Free Clinic on Thursday, March 6 will be open for check-in from 4:30pm-5:00pm at the KP Community Council Office in the Key Center Corral. Open from 4:30pm-7:00PM.

Key Peninsula Fire Town Hall Saturday, March 8, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at KP Civic Center

The Mustard Seed Project-Life After Loss-Grief Support Group at 12:00pm on Monday, March 10, and every second Monday each month.

All Caregivers Support Group located at the Key Peninsula Lutheran Church. This is every 2nd Monday of each month, this month is on March 10, 6:00pm – 8:00pm. For additional information contact Cherrianne Shepardson at 253-878-0982.

TacomaProBono Legal Aid, every 2nd Tuesday (This month March 11) 10:00am – 12:00 pm at KPCS and 1:00pm -3:00pm at The Mustard See Project. Information and legal assistance from experts at TacomaProBono. Can help with: Basic legal questions, landlord-tenant issues, family law, advice, & resources. Walk-ins welcome.

Food Backpacks 4 Kids now has a Family Resource Center. The Family Support Specialist is Kate Landon. She is available in person on Thursdays from 12:00pm – 6:00pm and by phone at 253-857-7401 Ext. 1. Or you can reach her by email at katel@foodbackpacks4kids.org The pantry hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 12:00pm – 6:00pm.

Scholarships For Women through Minerva Scholarship Fund. Applicants must live or work within the boundaries of the Peninsula School District and have experienced at least a one-year interruption in their education. Application deadline is Monday, March 31. Key Peninsula Community Services presents Bikes & BBQ, Spring Charity Ride on Saturday April 19th. All proceeds go to their Food Pantry expansion. They are looking for vendors who would like to participate. They also need volunteers to help create Raffle Baskets. https://www.yourkpcs.org

The Peninsula Art League (PAL) invites artists to display their talents at this year’s 39th Summer Art Festival July 19-20, Sehmel Homestead Park. Applications are due by March 5 and Jury Notifications by March 14. https://www.zapplication.org/event-info.php?ID=12802

March 26 at the LIC. KP Forests, Champion Trees, and Ecological Forestry. Learn about our local forests and how to keep them healthy and vibrant. Speakers KP Naturalist Chris Rurik and Kirk Hanson, Director of Forestry for the NW Natural Resources. Doors open at 6:30. Program starts at 7. Optional tour of the LIC forest trail at 5:30. No host bar. Forestry resources will be available.
