These updates are produced by the KP Partnership with input from numerous other local organizations.

 

Timely News:

Key Center Library: Wednesday, January 21 – Story Time for Babies 10:15am-11:15am, STEAM Kids 4:00pm-5:00pm; Thursday, January 22 – Story Time for Mixed Ages 11:15am-12:15pm, Teen STEAM 3:00pm-4:30pm; Friday, January 23 – Play Time 1:00pm-2:00pm.

KP Kids meeting on Thursday, January 22 at 10:00am at The Red Barn Youth Center. This is a NEW permanent time and permanent location.

KP Community Council – Coffee Hour Thursday, January 22, 11:00am. Dahlia Talking with Close to Home Farm featuring Regina Stencil.

Roadside litter cleanup with Key Pen It Clean Saturday, January 24, 10:00am-12:00pm. Meet at the intersection of Whiteman Rd SW and Lake Drive SW to hand out safety vests, litter grabbers, trash bags, and road assignments. Please wear close-toe footwear and bring your work gloves. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old and in good health.

Pancake breakfast sponsored by KP Business Association at KP Civic Center Saturday, January 24, 9:00am-12:00pm. Donations go to help fund the PHS Scholarship Fund.

3 Schools in 1 Community Carnival: Evergreen, Vaughn, Minter Creek PTA’s; Saturday, January 24, 12:00pm-5:00pm at KP Civic Center. Tickets will 1Ticket for $1, 15 for $10, Unlimited Play Wristbands are $30 ($40 @ the door). Each game costs 1-4 punches or tickets. Concessions available for purchase.

Peninsula Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm to provide FREE winter coats for kids at Red Barn Youth Center’s Community Coat Day Sunday, January 25, 12:00pm-3:00pm. Sizes Youth 14/16 to adult 2xl. Stop by a craft station while you are there and make it a special day for the whole family.

Peninsula School District – Learn about the upcoming replacement Educational Programs & Operations Levy. Monday, January 26, 6:00pm at Evergreen Elementary School.

Upcoming Key Peninsula Events:

It’s Summer Somewhere: Sunshine & Soul at KP Civic Center Saturday, January 31, 6:00pm-10:00pm. This is for ages 21+. Tickets are $30, food included, but drinks are sold separately. Pierce County ALERT is a free service that allows fire, police, and other agencies to send out accurate and timely information to residents about emergencies.

Receive alerts on your cell phone, home phone, email, text messages, and TTY/TDD. Choose up to five locations you want to be notified about, such as your residence, workplace, child’s school and more.  It is important to provide complete information and update it when you move or change jobs so PCALERT can provide accurate and timely information to you.
