Timely News:

Key Center Library. Tech Help – Wednesday, August 13, 10:00am-1:00pm; MultiCare WIC Clinic – Thursday, August 14, 1:00pm-4:30pm; Button Maker Party – Saturday, August 16, 12:00pm-1:30pm.

Pierce County Social Services will be at KP Community Services Thursday, August 14 at 11:00am.

Community Forum-Disaster Preparedness at The Mustard Seed Project Thursday, August 14 at 12:00pm.

Key Peninsula Council Meeting: Thursday, August 14. Refreshments at 6:00pm, meeting starts at 6:30pm. KP Business Association Luncheon at El Sombrero on Friday, August 15 at 12:00pm.

Cinema Under the Stars; watch “Inside out 2” with Key Pen Parks at Volunteer Park Friday, August 15. Bring your own chairs, blankets, snack, and drinks. No alcohol, smoking or vaping in Key Pen Parks.  The movie starts at dusk. For additional information: www.keypenparks.com

Activities off the Key Peninsula:

Summer Movies in the Park with PenMet Parks. “Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone” will be playing at the Sehmel Homestead Park Amphitheater Friday, August 8, 9:00pm.

Tacoma Narrows Airport Day Saturday, August 16. Gates open at 9:00am, welcome 9:30, activities 10:00am-4:00pm. This is a FREE, family- friendly event. Watch airport activities, visit airport businesses, honor our military, try STEM activities for kids, check out aviation displays and booths, see aircraft flybys, and more.

Chalk the Harbor Saturday, August 16, 10:00am-5:00pm. This is a free family-friendly community event where people can transform the sidewalks of Harborview Drive into chalk creations. In celebration of art & community, the event will feature live art demonstrations, local artist showcases and hands-on opportunities to get creative and interact with art in their own way.

Summer Sounds Concert Series at Skansie Park Tuesday, August 19, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Playing is 90’s Rewind-a Seattle-based band playing the hits of the 90’s.

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL) is a strength, balance, and fitness program for older adults. If done regularly, the entire curriculum of activities in the SAIL program can help improve strength and balance to help prevent falls.
