Did you hear about Cascade Regional Blood Services shutting its doors?

  • Yes, yesterday Cascade Regional Blood Services (CRBS) sent out notices to donors and offered a press release that it will shut down operations next month.
  • According to the press release, it is because of changing demands that make it hard for smaller, legacy organizations to meet.
  • It sounds like Bloodworks Northwest will be doing the bulk of blood donation operations in the region now.

Do you know if this means local blood donation sites, like the one every Monday at Albertsons, will continue?

  • According to the article, most mobile donations efforts will halt, although it did not specific regular ones such as the Albertsons location.  Stay tuned for more….
  • Some donation appointments can still be made at the Tacoma and Puyallup sites.
  • Unfortunately, calls to CRBS are going unanswered at this time.
